Bunny photo card holder
Back piece
Measurements: W 6.5 cm x H 9.5 cm
I would suggest that you measure your photo card holder as you crochet to make sure that all photo cards fit in it. If the width is not the same or similar to mine as you chain the same number of chain as me, then you can adjust the number of chains on Round 1. The trick is just chain until it’s slightly bigger than the width of your picture. If you have the same number of chains as me then go ahead and use the pattern without having to calculate anything! Meanwhile to adjust the height, just add the number of rows or decrease the number of rows until it’s a little bigger than your picture.
Round 1: Ch 16
Round 2 - 24: Ch1 and turn your work to start a new row. Then, make 16 sc.
Fasten off by chaining 1 and cut.
Front piece
Part 1: Bottom border
Round 1: Ch 16 (The number of chains must be the same as the back piece)
Round 2 - 3: Ch 1 and turn your work. Make 16 sc.
For thicker border, you can add the number of rows accordingly.
Part 2:
Side 1
Round 1 - 17: Ch 1 and turn your work to start a new row. Make 3 sc.
* If your number of rounds/rows are more or less than mine than you have to do these calculations to decide how many rounds you need to do for the side.
The number of rounds (side) = total number of rounds/rows for the back piece - (total number of rounds for bottom border x 2) - 1
Fasten off and cut.
Side 2
Attach your yarn onto the other side and start crocheting the same number of single crochet as the other side but add 1 more round/row than the other side.
Example: According to my side 1 I will do 3 sc until Round 18 but DON’T CUT.
Part 3: Top border
Continue from Round 18 on side 2. You will chain the difference to connect side 2 border to side 1 border.
As I did a total of 16 sc for the back and front piece. I will minus the single crochets that I did for both sides (16 - 3 - 3 = 10). So I need to ch 10 and insert 1sc into the first stitch of side 1. For reference this is the time stamp of the video (09:00). Continue by making 1sc in each stitch until the end.
Round 1 - 3: Ch 1 and turn your work. Make 16 sc.
Fasten off and cut.
Join the front and back piece together with a single crochet. There are 2 methods to join the sides. I suggest that you watch this part in the tutorial for a detailed explanation (14:24).
Ears
Ch 10. Skip the first 2 stitches and make 7dc. In the last st, insert 3dc. Now continue on the other side and make 7dc. Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing. Repeat and make 1 more. Sew the ears on top of your photo card holder. For reference this is the time stamp (29:14).
All you need to do is cut some felt or the eyes and ears and glue it on or you can also sew the eyes and ears.
You can add a key ring or chain a strap for the photo card holder.
You’re done! I hope you love your new bunny photo card holder!! <3
Flower photo card holder
The steps are the same as the bunny photo card holder, the only difference is the size as the border needs to have some space for the flower. I would recommend that you use this photo card holder with top loader cause it is the PERFECT size for it!
Back piece
Measurements: W 8 cm x H 11 cm
I would suggest that you measure your photo card holder as you crochet to make sure that all photo cards fit in it. Round 1: Ch 20
Round 2 - 28: Ch1 and turn your work to start a new row. Then, make 20 sc (basically insert 1sc in each st).
Fasten off by chaining 1 and cut.
Front piece
Part 1: Bottom border
Round 1: Ch 20 (The number of chains must be the same as the back piece)
Round 2 - 8: Ch 1 and turn your work. Insert 1sc in each st.
For thicker border, you can add the number of rows accordingly.
Part 2:
Side 1
Round 1 - 12: Ch 1 and turn your work to start a new row. Make 5 sc.
* If your number of rounds/rows (at the back piece) are more or less than mine then you have to do these calculations to decide how many rounds you need to do for the side.
The number of rounds (side) = total number of rounds/rows for the back piece - (total number of rounds for bottom border x 2) - 1
Fasten off and cut.
Side 2
Round 1: Attach your yarn onto the other side and start crocheting the same number of single crochet as the other side but add 1 more round/row than the other side.
Example: According to my side 1 I will do 5 sc until Round 13 but DON’T CUT.
Part 3: Top border
Continue from Round 13 on side 2. You will chain the difference to connect side 2 border to side 1 border.
As I did a total of 20 sc for the back and front piece. I will minus the single crochets that I did for both sides (20 - 5 - 5 = 10). So I need to ch 10 and insert 1sc into the first stitches of side 1. For reference this is the time stamp of the video (09:00). Continue by making 1sc in each stitch until the end.
Round 1 - 8: Ch 1 and turn your work. Insert 1 sc in each st.
Fasten off and cut.
Join the front and back piece together with a single crochet. I suggest that you watch this part in the tutorial for a detailed explanation (14:24).
Flower
Round 1: Ch 29 or as big as you want it to be and sl st into the first ch. You’re going to end up with a big circle. For video reference (16:28)
Round 2: Insert 42 sc into the circle or make the sc(s) until the chains are covered but make sure that the total number of sc(s) can be dividable by 7. Then, sl st into the first sc.
Round 3: Ch 1. Continue this until the end (sl st, hdc, dc, 5 tr in the same st, dc, hdc) x 7
Fasten off.
Leaf
Ch 10 and sl st into the 2nd ch. Then insert sc, hdc, dc, tc inc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st. Now working on the other side. Sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tc Inc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st.
Fasten off and make 1 more leaf.
Now glue on the leafs onto the photo card. You can either glue or sew it on, it’s up to you. Then, glue on the flower onto the photo card holder. When glueing the flower make sure you cover the border so that you’re only able to see the circle on the middle.
You can add a key ring or chain a strap for the photo card holder.
