How to crochet cute teddy bear plushie + overalls
In this pattern you will learn on how to make a teddy bear wearing an overalls! Before you get started there is a lot of sewing BUT this pattern does work really fast. I finished mine in just about 1 hour and a half. Have fun making your new friend! <3
✿ Notes
‣ Remember to placed a stitch marker in the 1st stitch of each round. This will help you identify when each round starts / ends.
‣ You will work in a continuous round so you don’t have to make a sl st unless the pattern stated so.
‣ I recommend using invisible decrease to make it look neater. But in the sc2tog DON’T do an invisible decrease.
‣ This pattern uses US terminology.
‣ Number of stitches indicated between <xx>
‣ Weave in any excess yarn.
‣ For the bear wand, if you want to make it the pattern is on my Instagram page!

Legs
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 6sc <6>
Round 2: (Inc) x 6 <12>
Round 3: 1sc in each st, sl st <12>
Ch 1 and cut. Now repeat R1 - 3 to make the other leg piece. However, DON’T CUT. Just do it until Ch1.
Body
★ For this part I recommend you watch the youtube video while doing it as this part can be confusing.
Take the leg piece that you don’t cut and mark the Ch1 with a stitch marker (18:12). This is really important so you know where the ch1 is as it will get confusing later on. Then, take the other leg piece and start R4.
Round 4: We’re going to join the two legs. Take the other leg and make 11sc (don’t forget to mark the 1st st). Next, make 1 sc2tog. Then, you will reach the ch1 that you marked. In the ch1 insert an Inc. Continue making 12sc. Lastly, in the ch1 that you marked make an Inc. <28>
Round 5: 7sc, Inc, 12sc, Inc, 7sc <30>
Hands
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 6sc <6>
Round 2: (Inc) x 6 <12>
Round 3 - 5: 1sc in each st, sl st <12>
Ch1 and leave a long end for sewing. Then, cut.
Repeat R1 - 3 to make the other piece.
Nose
Ch 4
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch. 2sc, 3sc in the same st. Now working on the other side of the ch. 1sc, 2sc in the same st, sl st <8>
Round 2: Ch1, Inc in the same st as ch1, (Inc) x 5, sl st <16>
Ch1 and cut. If you plan to sew it on then cut a long end. If you’re just going to glue it on like I did then just leave it short.
Now all you need to do is take your grey yarn and sew on the nose shape. You can refer to this part of my video (32:34)
Ears
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 5sc, sl st <5>
Round 2: (Inc) x 5, sl st <10>
Round 3: Ch1, 1sc in each st, sl st <10>
Ch1 and leave a long end for sewing. Then, cut.
Repeat R1 - 3 to make the other piece.
★ Now go on and sew the head to the body by aligning the stitches together. Then, sew in the hands, ears and blushers. Then using a hot glue gun or any glue, glue on the nose, and eyes.
Overalls
★ Use 5.00mm crochet hook and any color chunky yarn that is ONE SIZE SMALLER than the bear. This is really important as you don’t want the overalls make the bear body too big. Or else the head and body will look weird because of the imbalance.
Leg part:- -
Round 1: In a magic ring, insert 8sc <8>
Round 2: (Inc) x 8 <16>
Round 3 - 5: 1sc in each st <16>
Round 6: Sl st then ch 1 and cut.
Now repeat R1 - 5 to make the other leg part. However, DON’T CUT. Just do it until Ch1. Take the leg piece that you don’t cut and mark the Ch1 with a stitch marker (44:57). This is really important so you know where the ch1 is as it will get confusing later on. Then, take the other leg piece and start R7.
Round 7: We’re going to join the two legs part. Take the other leg and make 15sc (don’t forget to mark the 1st st). Next, make 1 sc2tog. Then, you will reach the ch1 that you marked. In the ch1 insert an Inc. Continue making 16sc. Lastly, in the ch1 that you marked make an Inc. <36>
Round 8 - 13: 1sc in each st <36>
Sl st, Ch 1 and cut.
Then, you will be making the flap for the front and back part of the overalls. You will have to find where you need to start making the front part by finding the centre of the overalls. You have to make sure that the front part is on the centre of the bear’s body. If you’re confused on this part then you can refer to this part of my video (48:16) . For mine I did 8 sc and 6 rows. Then, once you’re done for the front do the same for the back side and make sure that the number of single crochets and rows are the same as the front.
Strap: Make a slip knot and inset it in the first st of your overalls flap. Then, ch 8 or how long you needed it to be. Don’t make the strap too loose because over time the strap will get looser as you remove and put on the clothes. Then, join it in the first st of the back flap and make 1 sc. Now, repeat this step for the other side.
Pockets:
Ch 6
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch and make 5 sc
Round 2 - 3: Ch 1 and turn your work. Insert 5sc.
Finish off by making ch1 and tighten the ch 1. Then, cut a long end for sewing. Make one more for the other side. Now you will have to sew on the pockets on the overalls. For more detail, you can refer it on () on the video.
Moon
Ch 8
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch. 1sc, 2hdc in the same st, 2dc in the same st, 3tc in the same st, 2dc in the same st, 2hdc in the same st, 1sc, sl st into the last st where you just make sc.
Ch 1 and cut a long end if you plan on sewing it onto the overalls. For mine, I used a hot glue gun to glue it on.
Now you’re done! Enjoy your new teddy bear! <3
